As a result of the investigation of motor vehicle collision on Oct. 7, 2018, 56 year-old Ronald Plummer of Maple Creek, SK, has been charged with second degree murder (Sec. 235(1), Criminal Code) in the death of 50 year-old Lesa Zoerb, also of Maple Creek.
On Sunday October 7, Maple Creek RCMP along with the Maple Creek Fire Department and EMS personnel attended a serious 2 vehicle collision on Highway #21 approximately 2 kms North of Maple Creek.
A 50 year. old female from Maple Creek who had been driving one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 55 year old male driving the second vehicle sustained life threatening injuries and was transported via STARS air ambulance to hospital in Regina. There were no other passengers in the vehicles at the time of the collision.
While members were investigating the motor vehicle collision, they became aware of an assault that had occurred earlier the same day. Subsequently, Plummer is also charged with aggravated assault (Sec. 268, Criminal Code).
He will be appearing in Saskatoon Provincial Court this morning (Friday, January 25) at 9 a.m.
