A flagraising ceremony took place at City Hall on Sept. 4 in recognition of the proclamation of Sept. 2-8 as SaskAbilities Awareness Week in Swift Current. This was the first time that the new SaskAbilities flag was raised for the annual awareness week in the city since the organization's rebranding in 2017. The flag was raised by Swift Current Mayor Denis Perrault and Cypress Hills-Grasslands Member of Parliament David Anderson was also in attendance. Two events took place during the week to highlight and celebrate the work of SaskAbilities in the community. There was a community barbeque at Market Square on Sept. 6 and SaskAbilities Swift Current Branch hosted an open house and special needs equipment grand re-opening event on Sept. 7 at the organization’s main location.
