Michel concert Feb. 9

The Blenders Music Series is pleased to present the award winning Danny Michel on Saturday, February 9th at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

With nominations for three JUNOs, the Polaris Prize, The CBC "Heart Of Gold," plus a pile of albums under his belt, Danny Michel is one of Canada’s finest songwriters.

His thoughtful lyrics and earnest performances have earned him a devoted fan base. Danny is a musical chameleon, able to slip into many genres with ease. He is masterful at striking a balance between unpredictability and meeting expectations, leaving you wanting more as soon as the show is over.

Danny Michel made his new album, Khlebnikov, aboard an old Russian icebreaker ship of the same name over an 18-day expedition to the tip of Ellesmere Island.

Michel weaves together the hushed, folky intimacy of his singing and playing with eerie, atmospheric field recordings taken on the ship. He later added expansive strings and brass. Come and experience this incredible performer.

Tickets for the Saturday, February 9th show are $35 and are available at Pharmasave.  Doors at the Lyric Theatre will open at 7:30pm and the music begins at 8:30pm. Blenders would like to thank Standard Motors for sponsoring this show.
