RCMP attend farm

A three-year-old boy has died after suffering serious injuries in a farm accident on Tuesday afternoon.

Stuart Brideaux, Alberta Health Services Public Education Officer, said ground ambulances from Fort Macleod and Claresholm responded to a property southwest of Fort Macleod, near Highway 810 and Township Road 84a, just after 12 p.m. on Tuesday.

Brideaux said the three-year-old died as a result of his injuries involving commercial equipment. A STARS air ambulance was dispatched to the scene but was stood down by ground paramedics on arrival, as the boy was declared dead at the scene.

An RCMP spokesperson said police also responded to the incident, which has been deemed accidental, and no charges are pending.

No further information has been released at this time.
