RCMP charge individual with extortion in Cardston

On Dec. 18, Cardston RCMP investigated alleged extortion and assault of an individual from Cardston.

Through the investigation it was learned that the individual had been assaulted over a period of three months and extorted out of approximately $8,000.

Karla Renae Black Plume (35) of Moses Lake, Alta., has been charged with: extortion; unlawful confinement; assault with a weapon; uttering threats and possession of a dangerous weapon.

She has been released from custody and will be appearing in Cardston Provincial Court on Jan. 7.
