By Elizabeth Huber Swift Current When Jeff Chambers took on the task of organizing the patch for the women's world curling championship, he maintained he would not be settling for a sub-par venue.
Sitting on a plane in April 2009 while flying back from world men’s curling championship in Moncton, New Brunswick, Chambers grabbed a piece of paper and sketched the design for the patch — the pub and party venue complete with food vendors that is typically set up at major curling events.

Swift Current She came in to the competition setting the record for most world championship appearances by a skip with 17, and she left as the oldest ever to win it all.
Germany's Andrea Schoepp, 45, last won world gold back in 1988 in Glasgow, Scotland. She pulled out another golden win in Swift Current last week, beating Scotland 8-6 in the extra end.
