Saskatchewan The Cypress Regional Health Authority (CRHA) has looked to within its Senior Management Team to assume the responsibilities of Interim Chief Executive Officer. Beth Vachon has accepted the interim position, which was announced at the March 10 regular monthly meeting of the CRHA. Vachon currently holds the position of Executive Director of Community Health Services and is responsible for the overall coordination of population health, mental health, addictions, home care, occupational health & safety, and public health service/programs within the region. Having been with the Cypress Health Region (and its predecessors) for 25 years and a member of the Senior Management Team since 2003, Vachon has a solid grasp of the current issues and challenges that are facing the health region. Cypress Board Chairperson Tyler Bragg expressed his confidence in the decision to announce Vachon as the Interim CEO of Cypress Health. “Our Regional Health Authority members are very satisfied with the skills and experiences that the members of our senior team bring to the health region,” commented Bragg. “We are confident that Beth will continue the past trend of providing quality leadership from the CEO position, and that she will utilize the expertise of the other members of the senior managers and Cypress Health team to provide excellent health programs and services to our residents.” Vachon will assume the Interim CEO duties and responsibilities on April 1, 2010, which will allow for some time to ease into the position while the current CEO Jim Hornell remains with the health region. The recruitment of a permanent CEO position will be initiated by the CRHA in the near future, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health. |
