By Delon Shurtz Southern Alberta Newspapers Southern Alberta Overwhelming support from Taber voters has put a retired farmer in the Tory driver’s seat for the next provincial election. Pat Shimbashi handily beat Cardston-Taber-Warner MLA Broyce Jacobs Nov. 26 during the nomination to see who would represent the constituency in the next election. Shimbashi, from the Taber area, won with 1,068 votes to Jacob’s 736, thanks primarily to 706 votes from Taber voters alone.
