Raymond/New Dayton Alberta Health Services is reminding Raymond and New Dayton residents that boil water advisories issued in June remain in effect for those communities. The advisories were issued June 20th in Raymond and June 23rd in New Dayton. The advisories were issued due to high levels of sediment in the water following heavy rainfall and flooding in Southern Alberta in mid to late June. Alberta Health Services Environmental Public Health and Alberta Environment continue to work with the municipalities to address ongoing challenges with water treatment facilities. Neither community has been able to successfully produce water safe for human consumption. The order will be lifted when all water quality parameters are satisfactorily achieved and test results show the water is safe to drink. Residents are advised to continue to bring their water to a rapid, rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, including drinking, making infant formula and juices, cooking, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice. Alternatively, residents may use bottled water. For health information, please contact Health Link Alberta at 1-866-408-LINK (5465). Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than 3.7 million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans. |
