As a doctor recruiter for the communities of Milk River, Coutts, Warner and the County of Warner, Hockney has been searching for family doctors for the past three years — ever since the town of Milk River has been without a permanent physician.

Coaldale Ambulatory care services at the Coaldale Health Centre will be closed from 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, until 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, as no physician coverage is available. Emergency Medical Services, including a paramedic, will provide critical care coverage at the Coaldale Health Centre during this time. In an emergency, residents should phone 911. For less urgent medical situations, Emergency Department access is available at the Raymond Health Centre and Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. Additionally, Health Link Alberta offers non-emergent medical advice from a registered nurse, 24 hours a day, at 1-866-408-5465.
