(CNW) Today, for the first time ever, all
eight farmer-elected Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) directors, representing
tens of thousands of farmers, along with members of the Opposition,
stood on the steps of Parliament Hill to call on the Harper government
to stop its illegal decision to dismantle the CWB by Christmas.

Official counting of the ballots took place Thursday, Nov. 10. Zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 had elections, with the remaining four zones electing delegates by acclamation. Elections took place during the Alberta Beef Producer (ABP) meetings held across Alberta in October and November.

The CWB Oct. 28 announced that interim payments will be made for most grades of wheat, durum and barley delivered to the CWB during the 2010-11 crop year.
