The Saskatchewan Curling Association Senior Men’s Region 1 Playdowns were held at the Swift Current Curling Club on Feb. 4-5. Region 1 is sending one representative to the Affinity Credit Union Senior Men’s Southern Playdowns in Carlyle on February 9 to 12.
 

An extremely difficult schedule caught up with the Swift Current Broncos Saturday night and the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings were the benefactors.

The Regina Pats' Adam Beukeboom earned his first WHL shutout helping to lead the visiting Pats over the Swift Current Broncos at the Credit Union iplex.

Extra chairs had to be carried in to accommodate all the people who wanted to find out more about the Swift Current Broncos turnaround plan last night.
Over 200 people attended the hockey club's first ever community interaction meeting in the Credit Union iplex on Feb. 2, which included a presentation on the team's new strategic framework. Over 50 people also watched a live webcast of the event.

The contestants dug into plates of hot dogs to see who can eat the most in one minute at the 2nd Annual Wiener Wednesday Hot Dog Eating Competition on Feb. 1, which took place at the Swift Current Broncos game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.


The Under 15 girls SunDogs volleyball team hit the road down the TransCanada from Swift Current to Moose Jaw.

Figure skaters from across the prairie provinces will be competing in Swift Current during the annual Provincial Jean Norman competition, hosted by the Swift Current Skating Club at the Fairview arenas Feb. 24-26.


The goals came in clumps and in the process, Swift Current Broncos' defenceman Richard Nedomlel increased his season total by 50 per cent.
