No one can accuse the 16U SunDogs volleyball men’s team of being not well conditioned or never putting forth a determined, dare we say, dogged effort.

The 16U men under the coaching of Jeff Jago and Tyler Dickie earned a well deserved gold medal from the North Battleford Invitational tournament winning all five round robin matches they played April 9 before playing two, incredibly gruelling matches April 10.
In an incredibly competitive semi finals against the Regina Renegades, the SunDogs one the first set 39-37 and then winning the second game 25-23.
The final game was also close against 16u Smashing Bananas from Prince Albert, but the Swift Current squad won 24-26, 25-12 and 15-12.

15U Girls
The 15U girls did well in this past weekend’s QCVC 15U/16U Tournament in Regina.
In this 10-team tournament, the girls won all four matches in the round robin play (Yorkton 25-19, 25-12; QCVC Avalanche 25-14, 25-14; Leroy 25-12, 25-13; QCVC Rush 28-26, 25-18) placing them first in their round robin.
They headed to the semifinal game where they faced QCVC Royal Rebels and suffered their first loss of the tournament (25-20, 17-25, 9-15).
In our final game, we faced the QCVC Royal Rush (which we played in round robin, winning the game in two sets 25-23, 25-13, placing the team third.  Great job players and coach on a job well done.
Their next action is Provincials April 29 to May 1 in Saskatoon.
