SunDogs battle hard in Saskatoon, come up short

The Great Plains College SunDogs were involved in a volleyball tournament Oct. 2-3 in Saskatoon.


Although combined they suffered more defeats than victories, SunDogs Athletics and Recreation Co-ordinator Mona Patterson says there is reason for optimism.
“Although the SunDogs took some losses, they were close games and the season will be a good one,” she said in a statement Oct. 6. “Everyone played hard. Our coaches did an excellent job.”
Results (Men):
• Lost to Millar by three points in the third set;
• Won against Moose Jaw Campus Panthers in three sets;
• Lost to Prairie Bible College Pilots (Three Hills, Alta.) by two points in each set;
• Lost to Saskatoon Kelsey Amaruks.
Women:
• Lost to Millar;
• Lost to Woodland Wild (Prince Albert) in three sets;
• Lost to Prairie Pilots;
• Lost to Moose Jaw.
Upcoming events for the SunDogs include: Battle of the Southwest on Oct. 21; SunDogs 10th Birthday Party on Oct. 24;  and Volleyball Westerns Nov. 27-28 in Swift Current.
