SunDogs’ U17 women volleyball team has good showing in tourney

The results for this past weekend’s 17/18U Women Subway Sask Cup No. 1 in Saskatoon was good for a group of young female volleyball players from Swift Current.


  The Swift Current Junior Sundogs 17U beat Montmartre VC 25-23, 25-9 to win Tier 4. Tournament final placing was Tier 4 Gold which worked out to 25th out of 43. Overall in games they were 12-11.
The next action for 17/8U Women is the Subway Sask Cup No. 2 March 7-8 in Saskatoon.
After a bit of a rough start with match losses to Wakaw, Prince Albert and a couple of U18 team, the SunDogs got hot at the right time and won three straight matches to win the Tier 4 title. 
Waldheim Briercrest 18U defeated the Regina Junior Cougars 26-24, 25-19 to win the 17/18U Subway Sask Cup No. 1.  The Saskatoon Junior Huskies 17U defeated the Saskatoon Junior Huskies 18U 25-23, 25-23 to win Tier 1 Bronze.
