Ardens blank opponents two times in a row

The Swift Current Comp. Ardens opened the regular season with a pair of shutout wins in the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League on Saturday.


The Ardens opened the day with a 1-0 win over the Weyburn Eagles. Tara Kirkpatrick scored the lone goal, while Britney Cleaveley earned the shutout.

The Ardens then defeated the Estevan Elecs 12-0 led by four goals from Kaity Letwiniuk. Cassidy Andres added a hat trick of her own and Emilie Erlandson chipped in a pair. Andrea Erlandson, Kirkpatrick, and Kelsey Therrien also scored as Beriah Klein and Cassandra Furey-Cameron shared the shutout.

The Ardens will host the Moose Jaw Vanier Spirits on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Irwin Field in a rematch of last year's championship final before heading to Moose Jaw on the weekend for the 16-team Soccerfest Tournament.
