The Swift Current Indians managed seven hits and a walk off of Melville starter Garrett Kelly but left 10 men on base in a 5-0 loss Thursday to the visiting Millionaires at Mitchell Field.

The Tribe had bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and two men on base in the eighth and ninth but could not cross the plate. Right fielder Brennan Peterson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead all Indians hitters, who had averaged seven runs a game over the previous 12 games.

The loss was just the third home defeat for the Tribe in 2011, and put an end to a four-game winning streak. It also stalled Indians coach Joe Carnahan’s bid for his 100th career regular season win. Indians starter Tim Jones was tagged with the loss, allowing three runs on five hits over seven innings, while striking out seven Mils batters.

The Indians (16-10) continue a five-game home stand Friday when they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks (23-6) in a battle of division leaders at Mitchell Field. The game will feature an on-field introduction before the game of all former Indians in attendance, as the team celebrates Alumni Week. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
