Prospects in Edmonton were better for Swift Current

After a forgettable game in Saskatoon, the Swift Current Indians got back on track in Edmonton Saturday night.

The Indians doubled up the Prospects 4-2 behind the pitching of Zack Resner. Resner (1-0) got the win going five innings. He gave two hits, one earned run, walked four, had two wild pitches, but notched four K's.

Joey Evans pitched the ninth and got two strikeouts.

Kirk Haviland knocked in two RBIs to lead the Swift Current offence. Conrad Funk played left field and went 3 for 4 at the plate.

The Indians play another game in Edmonton on Sunday before returning home to Mitchell Field on Monday to face Moose Jaw.

Notes: according to the Western Major Baseball League website, only 55 people showed up for the July 2 game in Edmonton.
