Ouch. The Swift Current Indians didn't enjoy their trip to the Bridge City losing a one-sided affair to the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets 8-2 Canada Day.

One would have thought Saskatoon (8-13) was the first place team in the division and not in last place the way they were able to hit the ball Friday. Indians' starter Tim Jones (0-3) lasted only five innings, gave up seven hits, five runs, four of them earned  and walked two. His ERA is now up to 4.03.

Taylor MacDonnell and Myles Ethier had rough outings on the mound as well for Swift Current. MacDonnell pitched one inning, gave up three hits two runs and walked one while Ethier ended up pitching two innings while giving up five hits and a run. Sasaktoon had 15 hits in all.

Brennan Peterson batted in both runs for Swift Current.

Next action for the Indians will be today (July 2) when they venture to Edmonton to face the Prospects. Swift Current is still in first place in the East Division of the WMBL with a 12-9 record, but they are 5-5 in their last ten games.
