Swift Current Indians shortstop Collin Hetzler, centre fielder Brennan Peterson, and right-handed pitcher Joey Evans are the Western Major Baseball League club’s three stars for the week ending June 11. (Players are listed with college/hometown.)

SS Collin Hetzler was the real deal at the plate but was getting it done in the field too.

FIRST STAR – COLLIN HETZLER (Houston Baptist University/Aledo, Texas)
If there were any questions about whether Collin Hetzler was the real deal after his impressive opening week, the Indians shortstop has convincingly laid them to rest. Hetzler sported a .556 on-base percentage in four games this past week, with five RBI and three stolen bases. After six games overall, Hetzler leads the league with a .478 batting average.
SECOND STAR – BRENNAN PETERSON (Fort Hays State Univ./Central Butte, Sask.)
It was a week of firsts for the centre fielder, who hit .400 this past week while drawing three walks for a .538 on-base percentage. The Central Butte product drove in his first three runs of the year and stole his first base of the year as the Indians went 2-2 on the week. Peterson’s best game came June 7 when he hit a two-RBI double, walked once, and scored two runs of his own in a 6-3 win over the visiting Edmonton Prospects.
THIRD STAR – JOEY EVANS (Texas Wesleyan University/Tyler, Texas)
After the events of this past week, it’s probably safe to call Joey Evans a fan of the Edmonton Prospects. In two appearances last week against the visiting Prospects, Evans threw 3.1 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four Edmonton hitters. Evans was on the mound for a come-from-behind 5-4 win June 6 and picked up the save in a 6-3 win the following night.
