Organizers for Swift Current's fifth annual KidSport Charity Breakfast couldn't have been happier with the event May 27.

The event was virtually sold out as approximately 400 people came to support the charity and listen to former NHLer Theoren Fleury discuss his life.

During the speech, Fleury, who turns 43 next month, mentioned how he grew up in a family that didn't have money and the only reason he was successful in hockey was because of charities like KidSport. He also addressed his off-ice issued before telling the attendees that hard work and giving back to others and to one's community is what is important in life.

Kevin Patenaude, Swift Current's KidSport president, was so impressed with the turnout that he doesn't know how his organization can top it next year.
