Lucky Charlie’s Pub and Pool wants you to join its new dart league.

The summer drop-in league will be established with the intention of forming a Saskatchewan Darts Association (SDA) affiliated league in September.

“It’s a little bit early to say exactly what the format will be, but this fall I’d like to establish teams,” said Curtis Neufeld, SDA team member currently ranked seventh in the province.

“You’ve got to have competition to season you for tournaments.”

If there’s enough interest in Swift Current, the group could pair with the SDA and receive funding through the Saskatchewan Arts Board.

The pub will host a Pro-Am tournament June 4 where individuals will be paired with high performance darters from the SDA provincial team.

The provincial team will compete at the Canadian National Dart Championship in Edmonton May 20-22.

“It’s a fresh team (with)the best players in Saskatchewan,” said Neufeld. “It should be fun.”

Aspiring darters, male or female, can contact Neufeld at 741-9135, or call Lucky Charlie’s at 306-773-0477 for more information.

The Legion will continue to host its dart league Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. and can contact Gary Oakman at 306-778-6287 for more information.
