The City of Swift Current and the Swift Current Indians have come to an agreement for a three-year lease of Mitchell Field.

The agreement, which was signed by City representatives at its council meeting May 2, will allow the Indians to use Mitchell Field and its concessions, washrooms, bleachers and lights for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 seasons for $162 per game. That rate may increase for 2012 and 2013 pending the approval of City Council.

According to the agreement, the Indians will be responsible for field maintenance during the season as well as controlling litter inside the fenced area and cleaning the dugouts and washrooms.

Under the agreement, any improvements made the stadium, such as the new seats being installed this season, are considered leasehold improvements and can not be removed without permission from the City.
