The Outdoor Rinks are now closing for the season due to the warm weather upon Swift Current.

”We opened the rinks in mid December and have had many days of warmer than  normal temperatures for most of the season which had led to a few closures of the Outdoor Rinks. However, while the rinks were open there were over 14,000 man hours used at the rinks, which is wonderful given the circumstances,” said Andy Toth, Parks Manager for the City of Swift Current.

“The attendance proves that the Outdoor Rinks meet a great need in the community for winter recreation. It is awesome that the City of Swift Current is able to provide this opportunity at no cost for everyone to get active.”

To get avid skaters through to spring, we would like to remind everyone that ice is available to rent at the indoor arenas and indoor public skating will continue until the end of the month. The city is also offering On the Move for youth 10-15.

Public skating and program schedules are available online at www.swiftcurrent.ca or at City Hall.
