Major high school curling championships take place in Abbey this weekend

Sask. High School Athletic Association provincial mixed curling championships are coming up this week in Abbey.

 

All games will be at Abbey rink. First draw is at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 2. Games will continue to Saturday, March 3. The gold and bronze medal final will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday night.


The host team is from Cabri School.  Skip - Russell Green, third - Tayler Stenerson, second - Klarke Braaten, lead - Mariah Jacklin.  Coach Ron Brawn.


Opening ceremonies will be held at approx 11:15 a.m. on Friday after the first draw. 


First draw includes:

9:00 a.m. Strasbourg vs Regina O'Neill

9:00 a.m. Unity vs Assiniboia

9:00 a.m. Kelliher vs Canwood

11:15 a.m. Opening ceremonies

12:00 noon Cabri vs Saskatoon Tommy Douglas.

Draw times on Friday are at 9 a.m., noon, 2:30 p.m, 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Draw times on Saturday are 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and medal matches at 6 p.m.


There will be a short closing ceremony at which the medals will be presented.
