After waiting 27 games for a start and being named the game's first star in Saskatoon, one would assume Austin Smith, 18, would've been pleased.
He probably wasn't as the Swift Current Broncos lost 4-3 in the shootout to the hometown Saskatoon Blades.

Coda Gordon (21) and Brad Hoban (14) scored in the first period to give the Broncos the lead after the first period.
Levi Bews (5) scored after stealing a puck at centre ice after serving a minor penalty and tucked it behind Blades' Andrey Makarov.
Gordon's marker scored their 52nd powerplay goal of the year.
The Blades outshot the Broncos 45-34. Goalie Austin Smith played outstanding and was named the games first star.
The shootout goal from Brent Benson was contested as they had to go to video review. While Smith argued it hadn't gone in, the referee Curtis Howe called it a goal.
33-20-1, Blades are now tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference. The Broncos are 20-29-6 and are 11 points behind Brandon. 6-17-3 on the road and are now 2-4 in the shootout.
Big game for Swift Current on Friday as they travel to Brandon. If they have any hope of making the playoffs they will have to beat Brandon on Friday.
