Swift Current loses 3-1 in Saskatoon

The Swift Current Broncos pressed for the tying goal but the Saskatoon Blades just wouldn't break Tuesday.

The Blades' Matej Stransky scored twice in the second period to give the hometown Blades a 2-0 lead after two periods.

Swift Current's Ryon Moser (11) scored in the third to cut the lead in ha;f, but despite their best efforts, the Broncos couldn't beat Andrey Makarov in the Saskatoon nets.

Blades Josh Nicholls scored into an empty net to make the game 3-1.

Only three minor penalties called in the entire game but Broncos' Adam Smith and Kyle Hoss did have a first period tussle.

The Broncos outshot Saskatoon 32-30. They don't have a lot of time to regroup as they will host the Lethbridge Hurricanes Wednesday night.

The Broncos' record is now 19-27-5 and a dismal 6-17-2 on the road. They are tenth in the Eastern Conference, ten points behind Brandon. The next three games are at home.
