Stingrays host successful July 22 swim meet Matthew Liebenberg

The Swift Current ACT/UCT Stingrays Summer Swim Club hosted swimmers from across the province at the club's swim meet, July 22. A total of 162 athletes from 14 teams competed at the event. 

The Stingrays had the largest team of 31 swimmers, with 18 female and 13 male athletes. Below are the results for Stingrays swimmers who placed in the top three of different events:
Girls 7-8 years: Talyah Cuthbert – 2nd 50m freestyle, 2nd 25m backstroke, 2nd 25m freestyle; Daphne Dyck – 3rd 50m backstroke, 2nd 25m breaststroke, 1st 50m freestyle, 1st 25m freestyle; Isabelle Simpson – 3rd 50m freestyle, 3rd 50m breaststroke, 3rd 25m freestyle.
Boys 7-8 years: Ace Brewer – 1st 25m breaststroke, 1st 50m freestyle, 1st 25m backstroke, 1st 50m breaststroke, 2nd 25m freestyle; Eric Lloyd – 2nd 50m backstroke, 3rd 50m freestyle, 2nd 25m backstroke.
Boys 9-10 years: Ezra Lloyd – 2nd 50m breaststroke, 2nd 50m butterfly, 1st 100m breaststroke, 3rd 100m intermediate; Ethan Regier – 3rd 100m backstroke; Brady Simpson – 3rd 25m butterfly, 2nd 100m freestyle, 3rd 50m freestyle, 2nd 100m intermediate.
Girls 11-12 years: Daisy Dyck – 3rd 200m freestyle; Hannah Regier – 2nd 200m freestyle.
Boys 11-12 years: Luke Regier – 1st 200m freestyle, 3rd 50m breaststroke, 2nd 100m freestyle, 1st 100m breaststroke, 3rd 50m freestyle.
Girls 13-14 years: Taylor Dickie – 3rd 100m freestyle, 1st 100m backstroke.
Boys 13-14 years: Ghrandozz Aguilar – 2nd 100m freestyle, 1st 100m backstroke, 1st 100m butterfly, 2nd 200m intermediate; Justin Dueck – 2nd 50m freestyle, 3rd 200m intermediate; Luke Nelson – 3rd 200m freestyle, 2nd 100m breaststroke, 3rd 200m breaststroke.
A number of Stingrays swimmers finished in the top three on overall points. Daphne Dyck was second and Talyah Cuthbert was third in the girls 7-8 category. Ace Brewer was first in the boys 7-8 age group. Ezra Lloyd placed second in the boys 9-10 group, while Luke Regier was second overall in the boys 11-12 age group. Ghrandozz Aguilar finished third overall on points in the boys 13-14 group.
