Written by

Swift Current Broncos' assistant captain Taylor Vause was expected to lead the team offensively and he did so quite effectively Saturday.

The Broncos destroyed Lethbridge 9-3 Saturday night in an impressive road win. The Broncos were down 2-0 initially but then scored eight unanswered goals before Lethbridge scored once to make the game 8-3 before Colby Cave scored with less than a minute left.

The Broncos got three goals from Vause while Ryon Moser scored twice.

Reece Scarlett had a goal and three assists while Coda Gordon and Cave each added one.

Captain Brad Hoban also scored late in the third period to widen a large gap.

Goalie Austin Smith played a solid game making some spectacular saves throughout the game, especially in the second period. He stopped 23 of 26 Lethbridge shots.

The Broncos are in Calgary Sunday night.
