Broncos and Giants make deal

Swift Current Broncos General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb, has announced that the club has acquired 1996-born forward Luca Leone and a 6th round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for 1995-born defenceman Bobby Zinkan.

 

 Leone, recorded six points (2G,4A) and six penalty minutes in 33 games played with the Vancouver Giants last season.  The 6’, 190-pound product of Vancouver, BC was signed by the Giants in January of 2013 and has played 63 games so far in his WHL career, where he has recorded 11 points (4G,7A) and 20 penalty minutes.

 

He’s (Leone) a really strong skater with good size,” states General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb. “He’s a ’96-born forward that we think will fit well in our group and be a solid player for us.”

 

Zinkan, has played 102 career WHL games (all with the Swift Current Broncos) where has recorded 4 points (2G,2A) and 90 penalty minutes.  The 5’10”, 185-pound product of Calgary, AB was selected by the Broncos in the 4th round, 81st overall, of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.
