Swift Current Broncos fans won’t have much of a wait to see what their team is all about when next season kicks off.

The Broncos are to open the 2013-14 Western Hockey League regular season with six of their first eight games at home, according to a copy of the schedule obtained Monday by the Kamloops Daily News.
(The official schedule was released by the league on Wednesday.)
According to the advance copy, the Broncos will open their season Sept. 19 in Regina and host the Pats two nights later in their home opener.
Their first eight games also include their longest homestand of the year, four games from Oct. 2-9, and their first game against the Calgary Hitmen (Oct. 9) since losing to Calgary in last year’s playoffs.
From there Swift Current will play 10 of its next 13 games on the road, including five in seven nights from Oct. 16-22 as the Broncos complete their bi-annual trip through the U.S. Division.
The five-game U.S. trip also happens to be their longest road swing of the season.
The extremes in the schedule level out after that, with the exception of two weekends after Christmas where they will play three games in three nights.
One of those dreaded trifectas (from Jan. 17-19) will see them log over 2,000 kilometres as they travel to Brandon, return home to face Kootenay and close out the weekend in Prince Albert before returning home.
Swift Current is scheduled to play its home finale March 14 against Moose Jaw in the first half of a home-and-home that will close out the regular season.
Playoffs are slated to being March 21.
Other notes from the schedule release include:
The Subway Super Series on Nov. 27 and 28 in Lethbridge and Red Deer;
Christmas break from Dec. 18-26;
The CHL Top Prospects game Jan. 15 in Calgary;
League meetings in Las Vegas Feb. 3 and 4;
The Broncos have nine Friday home games and 11 on Saturdays, and will play five of their final eight games at the Credit Union iplex.
Their pre-season schedule includes eight games, beginning Aug. 27 and ending Sept. 14.
