The Swift Current Broncos extended their season-high winning streak to six games with their 2-1 road win Saturday against the Regina Pats.

Graham Black and Colby Cave scored for the Broncos and Eetu Laurikainen regained his form, making 30 saves, as the Broncos made it six in a row for the first time since going 6-0 to start the 2008-09 season.
The streak is now tied for the longest since a 10-game roll from Jan. 22-Feb. 10, 2008.
With the win the Broncos (23-20-3-2) sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, four points back of fourth-place Red Deer, entering tonight’s games.

All good things must come to an end, and so it was for Broncos, captain Adam Lowry who saw his 21-game point streak come to an end in Saturday’s win.
Along the way he compiled 21 of his league-leading 31 goals and 16 of this 32 assists while vaulting to fourth in the WHL’s overall scoring race.
But, to the surprise of no one, Lowry put the team first in his post-game comments to Greg Harder of the Regina Leader-Post.
“The six-game win streak is a little more important than the 21-game point streak,” Lowry told Harder. “I wanted to be a consistent performer for this team and I think I’ve done that but any time we can get the win it’s huge for us.”
