Swift Current Bronco General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb announced that the club has acquired 19-year-old forward Brent Benson from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for 19-year-old defenceman Graeme Craig.

Benson has tallied three assists in 11 games played with the Blades this season.  Last season the 5’11”, 192 pound product of Weyburn, SK recorded 37 points (13-24-37) in 62 games played with the Blades.  He was selected 6th overall by the Blades in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.

Benson is a very versatile top six forward with plenty of experience which our current group of forwards could learn a lot from,” says General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb.  “Craig has been a solid player for the Broncos for over three years.  To acquire a player like Benson, you have to give up great talent and with our young depth on defence we were able to acquire him (Benson).”

Craig is entering his fourth season with the Broncos where he has recorded one assist in 11 games played so far this season.  Last season, the 6’5”, 215 pound product of Red Deer, AB tallied 10 points (4-6-10) in 56 games played with the Broncos.  He was selected by the Broncos in the 3rd round, (64th overall) of the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
