Ghosts of WHL trade deadlines past

Written by

It was one of the usual suspects who made it rain ursine Sunday at the Credit Union iplex. Swift Current Broncos centre Graham Black scored his 15th goal of the season 59 seconds into the second period, sparking a deluge of teddy bears and other winter essentials on Teddy Bear, Toque and Mitt Toss night.

Swift Current Bronco General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb, announced that the club has acquired defenceman Reid Fritzke from the Seattle Thunderbirds for a conditional WHL Bantam Draft pick.

Twice the bridesmaid, finally the bride. Playing his first Western Hockey League game in 14 months, Swift Current Broncos goalie Steven Myland stopped 17 shots Tuesday in a 2-0 win over the Prince George Cougars.
