The Swift Current Broncos ran their season-high winning streak to five games Tuesday with a 4-3 road win over the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Swift Current Bronco defenceman Dillon Heatherington, forwards Jay Merkley and Colby Cave, along with netminder Eetu Laurikainen were listed in NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings leading up to the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Here are the Swift Current Broncos’ 10 longest points-scoring streaks since the start of Jeremy Reich’s 23-gamer in September 1999.

Former Swift Current Broncos forward Andy Blanke and current University of Saskatchewan Huskies forward signed with the SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers. However, the 6’2” 200 lbs Swift Current native and engineering student will remain with the Huskies for the time being.

Broncos and Hurricanes make deal late Monday

Swift Current Broncos General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb, has announced that the club has acquired 17-year-old forward Jay Merkley from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for 19-year-old forward Josh Derko and a 3rd round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.


The Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Swift Current Broncos are proud to announce that the “Rider Pride Hockey Challenge” presented by SaskCanola will be making a stop in Swift Current, SK to take part in a special hockey game where members of the Roughriders organization will go head-to-head against Broncos alumni on Saturday, February 16 from 12-2:30PM at the Credit Union iPlex.
