The Brooks Bandits saw two one-goal leads slip away Saturday night, as two late third period penalties for alleged diving and net-dislodging led to an Okotoks power-play game-tying goal, sending Game 2 of the AJHL South Final to overtime where Jordan Xavier (Calgary, AB) scored on a rebound to give the Oilers the dramatic win.

The Brooks Bandits have taken five spots on the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) All-League and All-Rookie teams for the 2016-17 season, the league announced.

Fight fans in the Special Areas region are in for treat March 25 at the Acadia Valley Event Center.

The Brooks Bandits trailed for the first time in their playoff series with the Olds Grizzlys on Monday night, but bounced back with 9 consecutive goals for a 9-1 win in Game 3, taking a 3 games to none lead and putting the Grizzlys on the brink of elimination.

Rookie forward Arnaud Vachon (Ajax, ON) had two goals, including the game-winner, as the Brooks Bandits took a 2-0 series lead in their AJHL South Division Semi-Final series with the Olds Grizzlys with a 7-2 home win on Saturday night.

Dennis Cesana (Providence, RI) was the only multi-goal scorer in a 9-goal Brooks Bandits offensive outburst on Friday night, as the AJHL’s number one regular season team recorded the second-largest shutout win in league playoff history, downing the Olds Grizzlys 9-0 in Game 1 of the best of seven division semifinal.
