Foremost native Hughson named AJHL Goalie of the Week

Brooks Bandits goaltender Garret Hughson (Foremost, AB) has been named the latest recipient of the Alberta Ford Dealers Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Goalie of the Week award, it was announced today.


Hughson, 20, posted a perfect 3-0 record this past week for the Bandits in a 4-1 win over Olds on Wednesday, a 4-3 home win over Okotoks Friday, and a 2-0 22-shot shutout win in Okotoks on Saturday, the second shutout of Hughson’s career with Brooks.

For the week, Hughson recorded a 1.33 goals against average and .945 save percentage. On the season, he has tallied a league-best 1.57 GAA and .934 save percentage.

Hughson is the second Bandit to win the goalie of the week award this season, joining veteran Josh Davies (Guelph, ON) who won for the week of November 30th – December 6th, 2015.
