Ardens win semi-final Thursday

The Swift Current Comp. Ardens inched closer to another Moose Jaw High School Soccer League as they downed the Moose Jaw AE Peacock Tornadoes 6-1 in the semi-final on Thursday.

The Great Plains College SunDogs men’s volleyball team will look to extend its season-opening two-match winning streak this weekend as they host the Bethany Eagles for a pair of matches at the GPC gym. Friday’s game will be played at 8 p.m. while Saturday’s is scheduled for 4 p.m.

After 25 years in the city, it is perhaps easy to take the presence of the Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club for granted, but the announcements of results from an economic and social impact assessment at the organization’s annual shareholders meeting on Oct. 5 highlighted the benefits of having a major junior hockey franchise in the community.
