Southern Alberta Summer Games around the corner

For four days in July about 3,000 participants from all over Southern Alberta will travel to Medicine Hat for the Spirit of the South: the Southern Alberta Summer Games.

Friday, one of Rick Fraser’s horses was injured as reported in our previous media release. After receiving veterinarian attention the horse has been moved to a recovery facility. The Medicine Hat Stampede Veterinarian  is optimistic about a complete recovery.

The 2011 Southern Alberta Summer Games will take place in Medicine Hat from July 6-9, 2011 and the deadline to register for “Team Medicine Hat” is Monday, June 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Calgary Stampeders to visit southern Alberta

The Calgary Stampeders have announced plans for their first tour of southern Alberta. Four players will visit communities throughout the south of the province on May 18 and 19 as Rob Cote, Charleston Hughes, Joffrey Reynolds and Juwan Simpson will meet with Stamps fans at schools, recreation centres, restaurants, retail stores and even a military base.

Poor Jon Groenheyde. Don't judge him too much if he seems a little tired.

The Swift Current Broncos were able to hold on to a three goal lead and earned a hard fought victory in Red Deer Friday night.
