It’s Canada Day and the barbecues are at the ready. It’s time to celebrate our country and our values. A country we hold so dear, values those from other lands seek. Ahh Canada a land where everyone is equal...
A nice sentiment, unfortunately we know that not to be true.
A recent battle in Alberta to secure equal rights for LGBTQ Albertans was won and rightly so.
Another battle, one not so sexy and not so high profile wages on. The battle to secure equal rights for the men, women and children employed on Alberta's farms, ranches and feedlots.
These workers will be providing the bounty for your Canada Day picnics and barbecues.
These worker are denied the legislation that would protect their lives and livelihoods.
These workers are not treated as equal Canadians, yet. Alberta now has an NDP government. Can emancipation be far from hand?
