Spending priorities a sign of the times

Alberta’s Official Opposition continues to harp on the $1 million the government spent on the Building Alberta signs, but has chosen to completely ignore the $8 million a year taxpayers spend on farm worker injuries.
These costs are transferred to the public purse by farms, ranches and feedlots that are too irresponsible to protect their workers and taxpayers by purchasing WCB protection.
Over the 10 years the Farmworkers Union of Alberta has been advocating on behalf of Albert’s farm workers that works out to $80 million.
I guess for this Official Opposition political points are everything, the public purse is incidental.
