Hate speech? Far from it says letter writer

The unsaved twists and the motives of Christians who care enough to warn them of hell, accusing them of “hate speech” and yet the warning is a sign of true love and compassion.

It is those professed Christians who don’t warn the world of the reality of hell whom they should disclaim. Any talk of Jesus being the only way to heaven is also considered intolerant and politically correct as “hate speech.” To say Jesus is the only way to everlasting life is seen by these people as religious extremism.
Consider this: on Aug. 5, 2010, part of the San Jose copper gold mine in the Atacama Desert near Copiapo Chile collapsed leaving 33 men trapped 2,300 feet underground. However, all 33 miners were safely rescued and brought to the surface on Oct. 13, 2010 or 69 days later through a narrow hole that had been drilled down to reach them. Each of the men had to be winched in a rescue capsule, reaching the surface in 16 minutes. The total cost of the rescue operation was estimated at $20 million.
Can you imagine being one of those men, hopelessly trapped deeper than 2,300 feet underground. They could move around and they had limited food and water, but it was just a matter of time until they died in darkness in a massive grave, but hope came from above.
Compassionate rescuers spent millions of dollars and went to great effort to drill one narrow way down to them, so they could be brought back from the very brink of sure death. When the offer came, all 33 gladly climbed into the capsule and did exactly what they were told by the rescuers. Not one of them said, “I am offended that there is only one way out of here. I don’t like this hateful narrow way and anyone who offers it is narrow minded. Instead, I’m going to dig my own way out thank you!”
Anyone who would say that would have to be insane. Yet, such is the way of those who are offened by what God did to rescue us hopelessly in the black shadow of death. We can move around and we have food and drink but we are trapped, waiting to die. It is just a matter of time — that is reality.
The Bible says “and it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). The standard that God will use to judge us is the Ten commandments.
The Bible says that if you break just one of those commandments that you have broken them all. Who of us can say we have never lied or hated or stolen or dishonoured our parents? We have failed to love God will all of our heart, soul, mind and body and failed to love our neighbour as ourself. The punishment is death and then eternity in hell, yet rescue came from above. God himself is rich in mercy and didn’t leave us alone in our darkness. He made his way for us to be rescued and it didn’t cost a mere $20 million. It cost the precious blood of His son.
Read the Bible daily and obey what you read (John 14:21) and God will never let you down.
