The power of community support is inspiring

Recently, two families in the Newell District 4-H have been affected by cancer.

These two amazing people have put their time and effort in helping others. I have been part of the Newell District 4-H for six years now, and I have got to say I have never been more proud of my district than on June 23 at the Newell District Sheep sale. At the sale, all the proceeds from Jaxson Peltzers lamb were donated to the Cancer Foundation in support of Robert Peltzer.
A total of 12 companies donated including: Calgary Stock Yards, Ben Payne, Highway 21 Feeders, Calgary Stock Yards Buyers, Celtic Pride, Cole Webb, Coal Creek Ranching, K Cattle Co., Alberta Prairie Meats, Niznik Ranch, Blake and Crystal Mulvey and Kokay Farms.
These companies/people bought and then resold the lamb which brought in a total of $9,550 for the cancer foundation. You definitely know you are living in the right place when something like this happens.
Thanks for all the support and I know I am certainly proud of the 4-H and the community of Brooks.
