An agreement has been finalized with Medicine Hat College that will allow junior-high students from Parkside School in Redcliff, Redcliff Mennonite Alternative Program, Jenner School and Schuler School to take sessions in plumbing and carpentry at the college with a qualified instructor.

More students are choosing to become health champions in their schools in Prairie Rose School Division, resulting in healthier environments.

Some parents of students at Irvine School and Eagle Butte High School in Dunmore will get some help with school fees in the coming school year thanks to a generous rural business.

PRSD will sell Acadia Valley lots

Three vacant and unserviced lots owned by Prairie Rose School Division located north of Warren Peers School in Acadia Valley will be sold. The lots were discussed at the regular April 12 board meeting for Prairie Rose School Division (PRSD) where the board directed administration to pursue their sale.

There are only a few days left to register for the Big Gap Centennial Roundup, set to take place July 9.

Budget conversations around the Prairie Rose School Division (PRSD) Board of Trustees table will grow increasingly more difficult in the coming years if more funding from the Alberta government isn’t forthcoming.

Registration has started for the 13th annual Southern Alberta Grazing School for Women and organizers are expecting the 40 spots to fill up quickly.

Grasslands Public Schools Board of Trustees have given approval for the associate superintendent of business services to award contracts pertaining to the Eastbrook School modernization project. The issue was discussed at the May 9 regular board meeting.

Thanks to favourable weather and generous people, the Women in the Wind Medicine Hat area chapters were able to raise money for Fort McMurray fire relief.

Six working groups have been created to look at various areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and recommend how employment standards, OHS and labour relations requirements should be applied under the Enhanced Protection for Farm and Ranch Workers Act which came into effect earlier this year.
