Cronan will take a swing at provincial title

Swift Current Comp. High School golfer Rachel Cronan is, as they say, on a roll.

The local Cypress Breastfeeding Support and Promotion Team is sponsoring the Swift Current Breastfeeding Challenge, a global initiative to raise awareness that breastfeeding is a normal and important strategy for child and maternal health. The challenge will take place Sept. 29 at the Swift Current Mall.

After rallying the entire community to support them on its quest to win an outdoor classroom through Majesta’s Trees of Knowledge contest, Central School is finally looking forward to the grand opening of its new facility Oct. 16.

Procrastination is a bad word when it comes to anyone who is supposed to be working hard, smartly and effectively.
The Government of Alberta is procrastination in action... errr ... in-action.

Swift Current Comp. golf coach Russ Siemens was a proud man as his golf teams did extremely well as the SWAC Championship in Leader Sept. 13.

This year’s Blenders lineup proves to be the best yet, as the popular local music series kicks off on Sept. 22 with a concert from Mighty Popo Trio. This 2007 Canadian Folk Music Award winner and Rwandan-Burundian refugee / survivor plays music steeped in African tradition, with a smooth twist of blues, jazz, rock, and R&B.

Burstall ready for annual fall fair activities

This weekend, a group of Burstall and area citizens plan on showing that country matters as the Burstall and District 31st Annual Old-Fashioned Fall Fair goes Sept. 8-9 in different locations across Burstall including the community hall.
