Gutsy Walks scheduled for Swift Current June 5

Written by

Do you have what it takes to make it stop? On Sunday, June 5, a Crohn’s and Colitis Canada Gutsy Walk will be held in Swift Current at Riverside Park in conjunction with Picnic in the Park.

Gutsy Walk is a national fundraiser for the fight against the debilitating disease of Crohn's and Colitis which effects an estimated 1 in 150 Canadians. This will be the 21st year the event has been held nationally. Medicine Hat and Swift Current are no different with June 5 walks in each community.

Chase the Ace a major fundraiser

Written by

A new fundraiser is set to begin. The Chase the Ace lottery is a jointly run effort between the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation, and the Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Parrish of Swift Current.

Vision Care Clinic in downtown Swift Current presented a cheque of $7,500 to the Swift Current United Way as a gold sponsor of the 2nd annual Foundation of Hope Gala, which will take place at the Living Sky Casino Sky Centre, Nov. 5.

It’s not too inconceivable that someone walking by Conny Lole wearing a T-shirt which would have a picture of a cat on it with the words “Check Meowt”; “Meowsitgoing”, “Show me your kitties” or “I just want to drink wine, save animals and take naps” would probably make her smile.

The Swift Current Kiwanis Club hopes to gain members and create greater awareness about the club’s activities in the community at an upcoming open house.
