There were many highlights during the second joint annual ceremonial review of the three Swift Current cadet corps, which took place on May 4 at the  Lt. Colonel Clifton Recreation Centre.

This year's reviewing officer was Senator  Pamela Wallin, who took the general salute and inspected the 259 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Drylander, 605 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Tarry Squadron  and 128 Navy League Cadet Corps Prairie Schooner.

The march past was followed by a number of demonstrations. To the delight of the crowd, Senator Wallin and Cypress Hills-Grassland MP David Anderson volunteered to participate in a drill demonstration by the Sea Cadets. The Air Cadets provided a range demonstration and the Sea Cadets a sailing demonstration.

There was loud applause during the awards presentation when Senator Wallin presented the National President's Award – Navy League Cadet Officer of the Year to Lieutenant (Navy League) Bonnie Moon, who is the commanding officer of the 128 Navy League Cadet Corps Prairie Schooner.

Senator Wallin also presented Strathcona Foundation medals for outstanding performance and personal involvement in the community to Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class Natasha Murray and Warrant Officer 2nd Class Daniel Chouquette.

The recipients of the Sea Cadet Service Medal for four years of continuous service were Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Natasha Murray and Petty Officer 1st Class Gloria Hildebrandt.
