Swift Current residents who are unable to vote in the civic election on Oct. 24 will have an opportunity to still cast their vote today and on Saturday in an advance poll.

The City of Swift Current has made provision for an advance poll on Oct. 17 and 20. The advance poll is for electors who are physically disabled, who have been appointed as election officials or who might be unable to vote on election day.

The Oct. 17 advance poll takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the Oct. 20 advance poll is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. On both days the advance poll will take place at the Colonel Clifton Centre (the former Recreation Centre) at 350 – 6th Avenue NE.

Over the next few days an advance poll will also be held specifically for the residents of senior and long-term care homes in Swift Current. The schedule for this poll is as follows:

Oct.17 at Pioneer Manor from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Oct.17 at Riverview Village from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Oct. 18 at The Bentley from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Oct. 18 at Heritage Towers from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Oct. 19 at Prairie View Lodge from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Oct. 19 at Golden West Manor from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
