Sports Week returns to Swift Current

Swift Current will host the 2nd annual Sports Week from Sept. 24-29 with many fun and exciting activities for all community members to participate in.

 

Sports Week kicks off at noon on Sept. 24 with the In Motion School Relay at Market Square. Some other events planned for the week include: Open Gym with the Broncos, SunDogs and Body Fit pep rally, Hockey Hall of Fame open to the public, Skate with the Wildcats, Jersey Day, Skateboarding demonstrations, Boys volleyball tournament, Legionnaire hockey players volunteering at The Center, and a Celebration of culture and sport at Riverside park.

The Grey Cup Tour Train will arrive in Swift Current Sept. 26 from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. CFL fans can come have their photo taken with the Grey Cup and Gainer the Gopher after touring the train and learning about 100 years of CFL history.

“This is an exciting opportunity for community members to participate in some fun activities while supporting our sports teams and promoting physical fitness,” said Val Choo-Foo, Swift Current’s In Motion Community Facilitator. “I hope that everyone will come out and enjoy Sports Week in Swift Current!”
