Swift Current Municipal RCMP/Provincial GIS  made arrests in a kidnapping investigation from a June complaint.

On July 24, the Regina Provincial General Investigation Section (GIS) with assistance from Brandon Police Service arrested 4 suspects in Brandon, MB without incident, in relation to a kidnapping investigation that originated in Swift Current, SK.

On June 13, at approximately 10 p.m., Swift Current Municipal RCMP received a complaint of a kidnapping that had taken place earlier that day. Two adult males reportedly forced another adult male from a residence and into a vehicle and then drove away.

The victim was reportedly able to escape from a residence in Brandon the following day and made his way back to Saskatchewan where he advised RCMP of what had occurred. At no time was there a concern for public safety as this was not a random incident.

The following all face charges of Kidnapping under section 279 (1.1)(b) of the Criminal Code and appeared in court in Brandon yesterday. A Saskatchewan court appearance is expected to be scheduled soon.
